Great Video, It Really helped me, I was struggling with other parts which came with wiper blades and now i know those are not needed for J shaped hook.
Glad it helped and thankyou for the comment.
Yassou George!! Thank you Jesus and thank you for this instructional video! About to attempt a double gate.

Thank you for the information. You are right so many parts inside the package -- useless. Easy explanation and thorough. God bless
You are welcome! May God watch over you all the days of your life!
I did this years ago on a slingshot. How well does it hold up especially with UV light? Could you sand it smooth? I'm doing this by hand
I have been doing this for years but most of my projects are small indoor items with little UV exposure. Here is a video I made that shows how to use superglue on a stationary project. Good luck! ruclips.net/video/ePshTwDCTLQ/видео.html
That was great. Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it!
You talk all stupid don't care about your stupidity talk is it 110 240 ?
I thought that was the best way to do that. Thanks.
You bet! Check out some of the elite woodworkers, I am just a rookie.
Did you have any issue with it slagging or the hinge sliding. I did, and i have it torqued down
No, I did not have any issues. I did use some large lag screws, as seen in my video. Try calling the Adjust-a-gate folks and ask them to give you suggestions.
What motor is it? 220v 110v???
110v
One of the big problems with water conservation is that water is too cheap. In your example of wasting 1500 gallons per year, the actual cost of that water from the utility company is in the range of $6 to $8 dollars ($3 to $4 for 75 gallons). The payback, even if you install it yourself, will take 28.75 years! ($230 cost of system / $8 in savings per year). I'm not saying you shouldn't do it, but the return on investment is not a reason. I'm installing one because I want hot water now, not wait two minutes.
I have to agree with you. My main motivation is the convenience of having hot water quickly. My second reason is location. I live in an area where we recently had droughts and have had to ration our water and even let our plants die.
I was so thrilled to see you did this pattern George! I've got the booklet of these patterns and plan to make a bunch of them to give to the staff at the AZ Humane Society as thanks for the job they do. I never would have thought of drilling the eyes like you did and really like it better that way. Scroll saw work is a favorite past time for me so I'll be making these cute patterns with my scroll saw. Thanks for sharing and I think it's great you showed different methods to make these cute little figures. It's getting HOT here now but at least we don't have the humidity which makes a huge difference. Have a great summer!
Thank you, Lori. I am glad you will be making these and especially happy you will bless the AZ Humane Society with them. They are cute and I think especially well received by dog lovers. Keep cool, I hope you have air conditioning in that shop of yours.
. . . good great suggestion about the towel . . . AND, good solid images in your video of the "details" that your arm nor hand covered while you were describing . . .
Glad it was helpful! I can always learn from comments. Safe driving.
helpful suggestion about protecting the windshield with a towel . . . thank you
You are welcome!
Nice job, easy and clear instructions. Well Done, Sir!
Glad it was helpful! Thank you for the complement.
Returning these blades. I bought Michelin blades from Walmart 3 months ago. I had to replace one because a storm bent it. Today the wiper blades do not match the ones they sold months ago. So now my blades don't match and I have to replace every one of them to match, and I will buy a different brand.
What a pain! Good luck.
like most items that work as a pair, I always buy two, the driver's side and the passenger side. Also, I double checked sizing as applies to which side the wiper blade is being installed . . . my passenger side blade is bigger than the driver's side . . .
I did all my house windows and doors thanks to you. I used the same color and moldings and bought the moldings where you bought your moldings. I redid my whole house panted and new moldings. The house looks new and fresh, once again thank you.
Thank you for your comment, it makes me feel good to have helped you!
Thank you so much for your tutorial. My blade rubber did the same thing as yours. The extra parts didn't throw me, however, the instructions that were not helpful. You are a blessing.
You're welcome! It sure makes me feel good as I am nearly 75 years old and I can still be helpful to folks. Drive safely.
Only thing from what ive seen these dont hold up very well
It depends on the movement around them. I see them on stores where carts hit them and they are smashed. I have had mine around my windows for over 15 years and they look great.
You need a return line L
It seems to work fine without a return line. Why should I spend the money? (I am not trying to be argumentative, I really would like to know.
Thanks for posting this up. It’s now May 25 2024 and your video saved my butt I watched it every step of the way. Bora instructions were horrible! I went with you straight out of the box. I am injured bad and my patience is thin. I got it assembled loosely and went back to bed. Tuesday I have surgery on my spine. Thanks Much…. Thom Schuck Portland, Oregon
I am glad it helped Thom. I don't know if you are a man of faith, but I am praying for you right now that the Lord guided the doctors and you will enjoy life again.
Hi what about if Im not install the WaterPump and just install the Bridge Valve?
I think the hot water would recirculate continuously and your gas bill would be $$$$$$.
Why don't they standardize the installation? I'd replace my blades more often if it wasn't such a pain figuring each out. 7 vehicles and I think each is different in some manner. And then different year/brand blades can be different. Guess they really don't want people to replace them.
I hate to sound negative, but I believe most companies do what is easiest and most cost-effective for themselves. The companies will not lose sales if wiper blade attachments are not conventional. I agree with you, they are a pain to deal with.
Thank you. Doing a double gate this weekend and this was by far the best video on installing that I have found on youtube. Love the curve you did on top of your gate.
Glad it helped, I wish you luck on your assembly. My gate has been up for several years now and it works as good as day 1. The best thing is if the wood goes bad I can just lift the gate up, lay it down and replace the wood.
This guy has a Subaru. He likes things that last.
You are right about that. The Outback is a 2018, it's the best car we have ever owned. At 6 years old we still think of it as our "new" car...tight as the day we drove it off the lot. We especially like the 3.6 engine, it goes like a rocket. Have a nice day.
From student to teacher, you're learning. Thats what matters. We make mistakes along the way but as long as we learn we can keep going. Ever need advice on knife making feel free to ask. Thanks Mr. Fotinakes
Thanks for the words of wisdom, they sound much like what I might have said to you years ago. I watched your video, "Knife Making - DIY SUPER Simple Bushcraft Knife". I don't know if I was more impressed with the knife-making or the video production. Your camera angles and editing were "spot on". I also loved the metal jig you made for holding your knife while grinding. I wish I could take a class from you and go full circle on the student/teacher cycle. I looked hard but I still couldn't recognize you, I am sure you've changed since the 8th grade!
NEVER use any oil on a diamond stone, they require zero fluid. Having said that you can use a non water based lubricant like Windex or similar but certainly not oil.
Thank you! I am learning more from the comments than what I taught in my video.
I would never make a knife from a file but I found the video very interesting because I learned some new things about working with metal. I'm a woodworker but sometimes it's handy to be able to incorporate metal into a project so thanks for sharing George. Your knife turned out beautiful!
Thank you Lori. I am finding from comments that the "real" knife makers have some advice for me. Enjoy your Spring before the heat arrives.
No tempering?
I did not know I had to do this. Luckily this knife is ornamental, I will probably never use it as a knife.
@@gfotinakes316 great video tho thanks for sharing
Thanks George!
You are welcome! Have a great life.
to uninstall the older costco, you need to separate the plastic seal piece. The new Michelin is much easier.
Great!
It's totally different that the last one.
I have not noticed a change in the "J" hook design in the last 5 years.
Thanks for the video I'm glad you went step by step because the instructions that came in the box read more about all the different parts vs how to install it. Thanks for the tips because it was counter intuitive
thank you Robert for your kind comments. Safe driving!
Looks great, thanks for sharing your knowledge!!
My pleasure! I hope you try this project. By the way, a viewer told me that there is a type of mesh tape that you can use in the joint area to increase the strength of the joint.
How did you mount the 2x4's to the block wall
1. I drilled a 1/2" holes about 1/2" deep into the 2x4 with a forsner bit. 2. I then drilled a 3/8" hole through the 2x4 in the center of the 1/2" holes. 3. I then set the 2x4 up to the block wall. 4. I then took a 3/8" masonry drill bit set it into each hole of the 2x4 and drilled enough to make a mark into the block. 5. I now took the masonry bit and bored deep enough into the block to set a lead insert into each hole. 6. I now took 3/8" lag bolts and drove them with my drill driver through the 2x4 holes and into the lead inserts until they were snug. ( Make sure you buy bolts long enough to go into the lead insert and through the 2x4). 7. NOTE: Several different types of anchors could go into your block wall holes, ask your local hardware person to explain the positive and negative of each type. You may want to try drilling these holes at places in the block filled with concrete. Usually, this will be near the bottom and at block cement joint seams. Good luck, let me know how it goes.
I was thinking of a key in a keyway. Put 2 shallow grooves opposite each other in the shaft of the large spinning top. Put 2 wedges opposite each other in your drive chuck. The wedges engage the slots for the drill to spin the top and disengage as you pull the drill off the top.
That sounds like a good idea, maybe I will give that a try! Thanks for your clever idea.
That sounds so good and would be real healthy too! Thanks for the "recipe" and how to make it!!!
My pleasure, take care.
Love this project and you gave some great tips along the way! What type of belt did you say you used to file the burrs off the end of the rod? I assume it's a belt especially for metal? I only do woodworking so I'm not familiar with that but do have a sander that is almost identical and think that belt might work fine on it. These phone stands would make great gifts since most everyone has smart phones these days. They don't take much wood so it would be nice to use exotic or figured woods. Your branding iron is awesome by the way. Thanks for sharing this project!
Thank you "Arizona". It is good to hear from you again. The sander I used is just a $49 1" belt sander from Harbour Freight. I thought it would be junk, but it works great. The belt's grit is harder than steel, so it cuts metal just fine. I hope you make some holders for gifts. Take Care!
@@gfotinakes316 You have a good memory George. It's already starting to get "toasty" here in AZ! I have a 1" Rikon sander that looks very similar to yours but mine is for woodworking. Do you know if I would need to buy a special type of belt for filing metal like you did or will a course grit woodworking belt do the trick? It would be nice to make up a bunch of those phone stands to keep around for gifts as needed. Everyone has a phone and they would be a great gift for anyone even if they're the type who are difficult to buy for. They could be stored unassembled until ready to give to someone and wouldn't take up much space at all. I think brass rods might look good also. You came up with another great idea!
I am a student, and I am building this for a class project in physics. This was very helpful!
Glad it was helpful! I wish you well for a successful project. Thanks for remembering me!
Good idea!
Glad you think so! Have a great day!
The rolled towel is a great tip. Also the encouragement to break the plastic clip on old blade was helpful.
Thank you for the positive feedback...it keeps me going!
I was thinking of reverse mounting my seat (cruiser), then I remembered I have an angle grinder, so...thank you for inspo!
Go luck! I stopped using mine after a few weeks. I did not realize the nose of the seat is where your thighs help you balance. My weight seemed to move to my wrists, which in turn started to give me trouble.
I do believe that the taper in the head of the adz is made to have wedges hammered in to hold the handle securely.
Well, the wedges do work out perfectly. I emailed you a photo of an adze with a narrow handle that has passed through the adze head until the tapered end is seated in the head. I did not know you were watching my videos. I probably need to "up my game" a bit. I just enjoy shooting and editing and I never know which video will take off. In December I had a video grow to 460,000 views. I am actually glad it has slowed down because it was hard keeping up with many challenging comments. Good to hear from you, take care.
just had this idea youtubed it too see if it would work....putting liner in tire first works soo much better man and no need for tape
I agree! Ride safely...
@@gfotinakes316 you too thanks for posting this for the masses!!
Thank you for this videos, I was so confused on the extra little pieces and started getting frustrated. This video was super easy to follow through with and super informative!
You are so welcome! Thank you for taking the time to offer a compliment.
I made the plunge and installed a recirculating pump. I am trying to figure out the most efficient way to use it. I have the ability to turn pump on and off at will. Plugged into a smart plug and connected to echo dot. It drastically changed my shower settings. I used to use full hot and some cold. It is just the opposite now. I have thought about turning the pump off after I get hot water to the shower. I thought about just leaving it on during the day, and off at night. How do you have your set?
I never leave it on during the shower. I give a voice command "on" about 3 minutes before my shower then a second voice comman "off" as I get into the shower. The shower is now hot and I have not wasted a drop down the drain prior to my shower. Give it a try that way. Good luck!
@@gfotinakes316 do you think leaving it running causes the water heater to run more?
Great idea
Glad you think so! It is still next to my computer. I usually keep it stuck to the top magnet when my grandkids are around. I don't want the furniture bumped and have the knife fall with a flip and get them in the foot! Take care.
Thank you!! This helped the most!!
Glad it helped! Happy safe driving.
Ummm why didn't you just drill out the inside hole of the washer or use an angle grinder to remove the extra metal instead of filing for half an hour ??
I don't own a reliable angle grinder and I never thought of drilling out the washer. Also, sometimes I just like using my hand file.
@@gfotinakes316 I buy all my gear at Garage sales, old guys love Ryobi & Makita👍😁
WHY? Do most of the wiper videos videos say COSTCO wiper blades??? I promise you WalMart sells many many more wiper blades than COSTCO. Doesn’t make sense.
I personally use Costco blades so I use them to make my videos. It sounds like you have given me a good idea! Thanks!
There is a line of Michelin wiper blades that are exclusive to Costco. I think they’re called Guardians. Don’t think you can buy them anywhere else.
